August 17th played host to Sydney pianist/singer Bonnie J Jensen accompanied by her wonderfully talented collaborator Graham Jesse on Flute, Alto Flute and Tenor Sax and locals Helen Russell on Double Bass and Nathan Goldman on Drums.

The attentive and quietly appreciative audience were treated to a night of very sweet, mellow Jazz. Bonnie and the band played a number of classic tunes, including "Peel Me a Grape", "Stolen Moments", "Take 5" and "My Romance" as well as some "new standards" – arrangements of Sting's "If You Love Somebody" and U2's "I Still Haven't Found What I'm looking For", along with a selection of originals.

The most beautiful moments came when Bonnie and the band played a cover of Mary Black's "Columbus" – mesmerising! Graham Jesse's flute playing was beautifully sensitive and absolutely superb, blending perfectly with Bonnie's vocals and piano playing.

At the end of the night many of the audience members expressed their thanks for a wonderful night of music. It was a sweet night of jazz!
